Entrevista: Pipes and Pints

Hey lads and ladies, batemos um papo com o vocalista do Pipes and Pints, Syco Mike.

Primeiramente gostaríamos de agradecer pela oportunidade. É uma grande honra para nós do blog entrevistar um dos grandes expoentes da cena celtic punk.

1-Para começar, acredito que seria bacana se você nos contasse um pouco sobre como Pipes and pints começou. O que vocês faziam antes da banda? Como o Celtic Punk entrou em suas vidas.

A banda foi formada em 2006, com Vojta e Tomas tocando com diferentes formações, um line up estável foi formado em 2009 – Mike (vocal), Vince (bateria) e Ondra (Baixo). Pipes and Pints é uma banda de punk rock e temos diferentes influencias musicais, isso faz nosso estilo.

2-Falando em influencias, quais nomes você pode citar como relevantes para o som da banda?

Todos nós ouvimos diferentes tipos de musica mas posso citar bandas como Street Dogs, Social Distortion,Bouncing Souls, US Bombs, Black Flag e muitas outras.

3-Vemos que o verão europeu tem um grande número de festivais, com uma com bandas como Dropkick Murphys, Mahones entre outras excursionando por ai. Pode contar um pouco sobre como tem sido a experiência das turnês. Como é a amizade entre as bandas? Com que banda vocês gostariam de estar no mesmo evento?

Nós tocamos em muitos festivais com muitas bandas incríveis. Uma banda que eu gostaria de dividir o palco provavelmente seria Black Flag ou The Henry Rollins Band que infelizmente não estão mais tocando. No ano passado tocamos com o Suicidal Tendencies e foi ótimo sair para conversar e estar no mesmo palco. Foi incrível.

4-Vocês podem citar o lugar mais incomum ( país, cidade ou até mesmo estabelecimento) que vocês já tocaram?  porque?

O lugar mais louco foi a Russia, onde as pessoas enlouquecem completamente quando tocamos. O maior perigo é o álcool, vodca antes do show pode fazer você perder seu guitarrista ou baixista, então cuidado com a bebida. Hahahahahah!!!!!! Outra coisa, as pessoas da Russia realmente nos trataram muito bem, uma hospitalidade incrível.

5-Quanto ao um lugar inesquecível onde tocaram, onde foi? E o publico qual o melhor? Quais musicas são mais pedidas?

Para a banda, todo show é especial e incrível. Damos toda nossa energia e o publico nos corresponde.

Os pedidos são sempre diferentes. Nós tocamos o nosso set e as pessoas acabam ouvindo as músicas delas.

6-Pipes and Pints tocaram em boa parte da Europa, podemos esperar que em breve vocês cruzem o Atlântico e toquem na America do Sul. Talvez no Brasil?

Ficaríamos honrados em tocar no Brasil e esperançosos por ter a oportunidade de andar de skate e surfar com os fãs que vierem ao nosso show. "ROCK ROLL RIDE THRO Brazil".

7-Quais são os planos para o future da banda? Algum projeto? Novos álbuns ou Singles?

Será uma boa coisa.

First of all, I’d like to thank you for this opportunity. It’s a big honor for us, Irish Punk Brasil, to interview one of the biggest exponent in the Celtic Punk world scene.

1-To begin with, would be nice if you tell us a little of how Pipes and Pints started. What you guys use to do before the band? How did Celtic Punk came into your lifes?

The band started in 2006 with its original members Voijta and Tomas after playing for years with different members the best  line up was found in 2009 Mike the Syco Mike frontman singer Vince pounding drums and Ondra the  bouncing bass man. Pipes and Pints is a Punk rock band and we all have different kind of influences on music that is what makes our style of music.

2-As for influences, which can you name as relevant to the band’s sound?

We all listen to different kinds of music but here a few Street Dogs, Social Distortion,Bouncing Souls, US Bombs Black Flag and many more.

3-We see that in european summer there’s a huge number of festivals with a lot of bands, as Dropkick Murphys, The Mahones and so on. Can you tell us a little bit of the experiences on tours, how is the friendship between the bands? And which band would you like to be at the same event?

We have played many festivals with many amazing bands one band I would like to share the same stage with would probably be Black Flag or the Henry Rollins band  but unfortunantly they are not playing anymore. We played with suicidal Tendencies this year it was great to hang out and talk and rock the same stage. It was amazing.

4-Can you guys cite the most unusual place (country, city or even establishment) you have ever played at? And why?

Craziest place we where was Russia the people went totally ape shit when we played. Dangerous is the alcohol the vodka before the show you could lose your guitar player or bass player before the show starts so be careful with the drinking. HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!
Otherwise the people there took really good care of us  there hospitality was amazing.

5-What about the most amazing place?What about the crowd? Where was the best crowd you played to? Which song is the most requested on shows?

Every show is special and great for us we give all our energy and the crowd gives it back to us.
Request are always different we play our set and people get to hear there songs anyway.

6-Pipes and Pints played in a good part of Europe, should we expect that soon you’ll be crossing the Atlantic and play in South América, perhaps even in Brazil?

Yes we would be honored to play in Brazil and hopefully have the opportunity to go skateboarding and surfing with the fans coming to our shows. ROCK ROLL RIDE THRO Brazil.

7- What are the plans for the future of the band? Any projects? New albums or singles?
Will be a good one.
